
Advanced Level Course Work for Secondary Students
Pre-AP/AP courses challenge and motivate college-bound
students to expand their education beyond the typical secondary program. Pre-AP
and AP course work develops advanced skills and content to prepare students for
Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Students’ scoring a three or better will receive
college credit. Success requires commitment to the expectations of the Pre-AP/AP
program.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a
cooperative educational endeavor between secondary schools and colleges and
universities that affords students an opportunity to pursue college-level
studies while still in secondary school, and to receive advanced placement,
credit, or both in college.
Students who take AP courses are able to learn a subject
in depth, to develop analytical reasoning skills, and to form disciplines study
habits that can contribute to continue success at the college level.
