Advanced Level Course Work for Secondary Students

Pre-AP/AP courses challenge and motivate college-bound students to expand their education beyond the typical secondary program. Pre-AP and AP course work develops advanced skills and content to prepare students for Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Students’ scoring a three or better will receive college credit. Success requires commitment to the expectations of the Pre-AP/AP program.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a cooperative educational endeavor between secondary schools and colleges and universities that affords students an opportunity to pursue college-level studies while still in secondary school, and to receive advanced placement, credit, or both in college.

Students who take AP courses are able to learn a subject in depth, to develop analytical reasoning skills, and to form disciplines study habits that can contribute to continue success at the college level.
